What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of task-oriented mirror therapy in enhancing upper limb motor function and daily living activities in stroke patients. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either high-intensity or low-intensity mirror therapy, with the goal of determining which approach yields better outcomes. The study will measure improvements in motor skills and overall functionality, focusing on patients with intact cognitive abilities. The research design is experimental, utilizing a randomized control trial methodology to ensure robust results.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are stroke patients aged 45 and above with intact cognitive function who can sit for more than 30 minutes.
Not a fit: Patients with visual impairments, global aphasia, or unstable medical conditions may not benefit from this therapy.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this therapy could significantly improve motor function and daily living activities for stroke patients.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes with mirror therapy in stroke rehabilitation, indicating potential for success in this approach.
