Using microRNAs to diagnose Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Biochemical Role of Circulating microRNAs Expression as Diagnostic Markers for Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Patients

Sohag University · NCT05921812

What this trial studies

This observational study aims to investigate the role of circulating microRNAs as potential diagnostic markers for patients with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It will include patients who have been newly diagnosed with this type of cancer and are treatment-naïve. The study will utilize real-time PCR to analyze the expression of microRNAs in the blood of participants. By identifying specific microRNA patterns, the study seeks to improve diagnostic accuracy for Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 to 75 who have newly diagnosed, histologically confirmed Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and have not yet received any anti-neoplastic treatment.

Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 18 or older than 75, or those with other malignancies, will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate and earlier diagnoses of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, improving patient outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of microRNAs as diagnostic markers is a growing field, this specific approach in Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
