What this trial studies
This clinical trial investigates the impact of laser-aided circumferential supracrestal fiberotomy on the rate of leveling and alignment in patients with mandibular anterior crowding. Participants aged 18-25 with full permanent dentition and good oral hygiene will receive either the laser treatment or a placebo. The study aims to determine if the laser intervention can enhance orthodontic outcomes compared to standard methods. The trial is conducted at the Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18-25 with mandibular anterior crowding and no significant dental anomalies.
Not a fit: Patients with advanced dental issues, previous orthodontic treatments, or systemic diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could lead to faster and more effective orthodontic alignment for patients with crowded teeth.
How similar studies have performed: While similar laser interventions have been explored, this specific approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
