Using green light and brain stimulation to treat migraines
Green Light and Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation in Migraine Patients; a Randomized Control Trial.
NA · Riphah International University · NCT06212869

What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of green light exposure and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on patients suffering from migraines. It aims to address the lack of evidence regarding the clinical outcomes of these novel treatments by conducting a larger-scale trial. Participants will receive either active tDCS, sham tDCS, or green light therapy to evaluate the effectiveness of these interventions in reducing migraine frequency and severity. The study will include patients who meet specific diagnostic criteria for migraines as defined by the International Headache Society.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with migraines who experience frequent headache attacks and meet specific inclusion criteria.
Not a fit: Patients with mental illness, photophobia, cranial implants, brain tumors, or skull wounds may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide new, non-pharmacological treatment options for patients suffering from migraines.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been smaller studies on similar interventions, this approach of comparing tDCS with green light therapy for migraines is relatively novel.
