What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of the FAST HUGS WITH ICU approach on the length of stay in the intensive care unit for patients suffering from hypoxic respiratory failure. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an experimental group receiving the FAST HUGS WITH ICU intervention or a control group receiving standard care. The FAST HUGS WITH ICU protocol includes various components such as feeding, analgesia, sedation, and infection monitoring. The study aims to evaluate differences in hospital stay duration and blood gas parameters between the two groups.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who are admitted to the Chest Intensive Care Unit with hypoxic respiratory failure.

Not a fit: Patients who die during hospitalization will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce the length of ICU stays for patients with hypoxic respiratory failure, improving patient outcomes and resource utilization.

How similar studies have performed: While the FAST HUGS approach has been utilized in various settings, this specific application in hypoxic respiratory failure is novel and has not been extensively tested.
