What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of eye gaze technology as both an assessment tool and an intervention for improving visual skills in children diagnosed with cortical/cerebral visual impairment. Participants aged 2 to 10 will engage in graded visual activities using eye gaze software for 20 minutes daily over four weeks. The study will assess improvements in visual abilities and their correlation with occupational performance through various pre-tests and observational data. The research is conducted under the supervision of trained professionals following a strict protocol to ensure accurate data collection.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 2 to 10 years diagnosed with cortical/cerebral visual impairment.
Not a fit: Patients with only ocular visual impairment or those older than 10 years may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance visual skills and occupational performance in children with cortical visual impairment, leading to improved quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of eye gaze technology is gaining traction, this specific application in children with cortical visual impairment is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
