What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of color Doppler ultrasonography in managing calcific tendinitis of the shoulder, a condition characterized by calcium deposits in the rotator cuff tendons. Patients with chronic shoulder pain and confirmed calcified deposits via X-ray will be treated using ultrasound Doppler techniques to assess and potentially improve their condition. The study aims to determine if this imaging method can enhance treatment outcomes by providing better insights into the inflammation and characteristics of the calcifications. The approach combines diagnostic imaging with therapeutic interventions to address the pain and mobility issues associated with this condition.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals experiencing chronic shoulder pain for more than one month with confirmed calcified deposits on X-ray.

Not a fit: Patients with needle phobia or known allergies to medications like Triamcinolone and Lidocaine may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment strategies for patients suffering from calcified tendinitis, enhancing their quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of ultrasound in diagnosing shoulder conditions is established, the specific application of color Doppler ultrasonography for treating calcified tendinitis is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
