Using digitally printed appliances to correct Class II malocclusion
Evaluation of Maxillary Segmental Distalization Using Infra Zygomatic Versus Palatal Digitally Printed Skeletal Anchored Appliances

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of maxillary segmental distalization using two types of digitally printed skeletal anchored appliances: one anchored by infrazygomatic mini-implants and the other by palatal miniscrews. Patients aged 13 to 18 with Class II malocclusion will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups for treatment. The appliances will be designed to minimize buccal tipping during the distalization process, utilizing chain elastics for effective movement. Ethical approval has been obtained, and all participants will provide informed consent before participation.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adolescents aged 13 to 18 with full permanent dentition and a diagnosed Class II malocclusion.
Not a fit: Patients with systemic conditions, bad habits affecting treatment, or previous orthodontic interventions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a more efficient and effective method for correcting Class II malocclusion in adolescents.
How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches have been explored, this specific use of digitally printed appliances for Class II malocclusion is relatively novel.
