What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Cue X, an augmented reality program designed to assist individuals with Parkinson's disease in maintaining mobility and balance. Participants will engage in rehabilitation activities using augmented reality glasses, which aim to enhance their exercise experience and encourage physical activity. The program is specifically tailored to address the challenges faced by those with Parkinson's, such as tremors and difficulty initiating movement. The study will recruit 50 participants who are under the care of a specialist in Leeds.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older with a confirmed diagnosis of Parkinson's disease who can walk indoors.

Not a fit: Patients under 18, those with severe cognitive or visual impairments, or those unable to walk at any time will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve the mobility and quality of life for patients with Parkinson's disease.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of augmented reality in rehabilitation is a novel approach, similar studies have shown promise in enhancing physical activity and engagement among patients with movement disorders.
