What this trial studies
This study investigates the impact of watching comedy videos on labor pain and birth satisfaction among women in active labor. By diverting attention through humor, the research aims to alleviate pain and enhance the overall birthing experience. The study focuses on non-invasive methods of pain management, exploring how emotional and mental support can improve maternal outcomes during childbirth. Participants will be monitored for changes in pain levels and satisfaction with the birthing process.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are women aged 18-45 in the active phase of labor, who are over 37 weeks pregnant and can communicate in Turkish.
Not a fit: Patients with high-risk pregnancies or those not in the active phase of labor will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a non-drug method to enhance labor experiences and reduce pain for expectant mothers.
How similar studies have performed: While various non-invasive pain management techniques have shown promise, this specific approach using comedy videos is novel and has not been previously tested in a randomized controlled setting.
