What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the impact of comedy therapy on pain and anxiety levels in patients following ureterorenoscopy (URS) surgery. Participants will be divided into two groups: one receiving a 10-minute comedy film intervention and the other serving as a control group with no intervention. Both groups will complete pre- and post-tests using numerical rating scales and state-trait anxiety scales to measure outcomes. The goal is to determine if comedy therapy can effectively alleviate postoperative discomfort and anxiety.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who have undergone ureterorenoscopy and do not have visual, auditory, communication, or psychiatric issues.

Not a fit: Patients who have experienced complications during the perioperative process or who choose not to participate will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a non-pharmacological method to enhance recovery and improve the quality of life for patients after surgery.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of comedy therapy in medical settings is gaining interest, this specific application in postoperative care is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
