What this trial studies
This study explores the effectiveness of incorporating seemingly irrelevant funny videos and memes into the Special Care Dentistry curriculum to improve retention of information among students. By integrating humor into the teaching process, the investigators aim to assess whether this approach enhances long-term memory retention of the course material. The study will evaluate students who have completed the course from Fall 2021 to Summer 2023 at Ahram Canadian University and will measure their retention through questionnaires. The goal is to determine if humor can serve as a valuable educational tool in complex subjects.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are students from Ahram Canadian University who have completed the Special Care Dentistry course.
Not a fit: Students who did not complete the Special Care Dentistry course or who refuse to participate in the questionnaire will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve learning outcomes and retention rates for students in complex dental education.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of humor in education is a recognized concept, this specific approach linking comedy to a specialized dental curriculum is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
