What this trial studies

This study investigates the effectiveness of Chitosan Phonophoresis as a treatment for cervical pain in adolescents who are frequent smartphone users. Participants aged 16-18 will be randomly assigned to either a control group receiving a standard exercise program or a study group receiving the same exercise program along with Chitosan Phonophoresis three times a week for four weeks. The goal is to enhance local drug penetration and reduce inflammation and pain associated with smartphone use. The study aims to assess the potential benefits of this innovative treatment approach in managing cervical pain.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adolescents aged 16-18 who have a body mass index of 26.58 kg/m2 and experience neck pain related to smartphone use.

Not a fit: Patients with previous head and neck injuries, congenital abnormalities, or other systemic diseases may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could significantly alleviate cervical pain in young smartphone users, improving their quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of phonophoresis is established, the specific application of Chitosan in this context is novel and has not been extensively tested in similar studies.
