What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate the real-life effectiveness of Cefiderocol, a new antibiotic, in treating infections caused by multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacilli. Conducted at the Strasbourg University Hospital, the study will analyze data from adult patients who received Cefiderocol as part of their routine care between April 2020 and August 2022. The goal is to clarify the therapeutic indications and administration methods for this antibiotic based on local experiences.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who were treated with Cefiderocol at the Strasbourg University Hospital during the specified timeframe.
Not a fit: Patients who have opted out of allowing their data to be used for research purposes will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the effective use of Cefiderocol for treating challenging bacterial infections.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited real-life data on Cefiderocol, similar studies on new antibiotics for multidrug-resistant infections have shown promising results.
