What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates the feasibility of a larger study on the effects of a Carrageenan mouthwash in preventing oral HPV infections. Participants aged 18 to 45 who are sexually active will complete a baseline visit, including a questionnaire and an oral rinse sample for HPV testing. They will receive mouthwash and instructions for use, followed by bi-weekly follow-ups for six months to report on mouthwash usage and sexual activities. The study is designed to be placebo-controlled and triple-blind to ensure unbiased results.

Inclusion Criteria: * Aged between 18 and 45 years old * Sexually active and have had oral sex in the past month * Will be residing in Montreal for the next six (6) months after study enrolment Exclusion Criteria: * Previous vaccination against HPV * Previous cancer of the mouth or throat
