What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate the efficacy of biologic treatments in patients with stricturing Crohn's disease who do not have surgical indications. It seeks to gather prospective data, as previous findings were largely retrospective, to better understand how biologics can help manage this condition. Patients will be treated with biologics while being monitored for their response to the therapy. The study is being conducted at Jinling Hospital in Nanjing, China.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients diagnosed with stricturing Crohn's disease who do not require surgery and are asymptomatic.
Not a fit: Patients with surgical indications or symptomatic penetrating diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide new treatment options for patients with stricturing Crohn's disease, potentially improving their quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While previous studies have suggested the potential effectiveness of biologics for stricturing Crohn's disease, this approach is still largely untested in a prospective setting.
