What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of artificial intelligence in enhancing the detection rates of polyps and early-stage colorectal cancer during colonoscopy. By utilizing computer-aided detection (CADe) systems, the research aims to standardize performance across various endoscopists and improve overall adenoma detection rates. The study focuses on patients scheduled for outpatient colonoscopy and aims to assess how AI can potentially reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer by improving the quality of endoscopic examinations.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 50 to 65 years who are scheduled for an outpatient colonoscopy.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of colorectal surgery or certain gastrointestinal conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to earlier detection of colorectal cancer and improved patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with the use of artificial intelligence in improving detection rates in colonoscopy, indicating a potential for success in this approach.
