What this trial studies
This study evaluates how animated films and storybooks can help lower fear and anxiety levels in children who have recently been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Children in the experimental group will watch a 10-minute animated movie and read an educational booklet, while the control group will continue with routine care without these interventions. The goal is to provide a supportive and informative experience to help children cope with their diagnosis.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 7-12 who have been newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and can communicate in Turkish.
Not a fit: Patients with mental, visual, hearing, or communication impairments, as well as those with mental health issues, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce anxiety and fear in children newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, improving their overall emotional well-being.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of using animated films and storybooks is novel, similar interventions in pediatric care have shown promise in reducing anxiety and improving coping mechanisms.
