What this trial studies

The eDoula project aims to assess the feasibility and acceptability of an app designed to provide educational materials and videos tailored to patients based on their due dates. Initially, the study will survey patients who do not have access to the app regarding their labor experiences and satisfaction. Following this, participants will be recruited to use the eDoula app and complete surveys during their postpartum period to evaluate its effectiveness. This approach seeks to enhance the support and information available to expectant mothers during a critical time.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are nulliparous women with singleton pregnancies who are English-speaking and have access to a smartphone.

Not a fit: Patients planning a cesarean delivery or those with significant pregnancy complications may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this app could improve labor experiences and postpartum satisfaction for pregnant women.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of mobile health applications in pregnancy support is emerging, this specific approach has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
