What this trial studies
This study explores the use of an AI chatbot to provide education about atrial fibrillation (AF) to patients. It aims to assess how well the chatbot can convey information with empathy, which is crucial for patient engagement and understanding. Participants will interact with the chatbot, which will provide text-based information and links to educational videos about AF. The study will involve approximately 40 individuals who are newly diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, focusing on enhancing their knowledge and management of the condition.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18 and older who have been newly diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to text or use electronic devices, or those who cannot read English, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could empower patients with atrial fibrillation to better understand their condition and improve their self-management.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of AI in patient education is an emerging field, similar studies have shown promise in enhancing patient engagement and understanding in various health conditions.
