What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate whether a novel nurse call system, enhanced by artificial intelligence, can reduce delays in nurse response times for patients admitted to a cardiology ward. Patients aged 18 and older will be enrolled within 24 hours of admission, and their data will be collected anonymously using smart tablets. The system is designed to be user-friendly, accommodating patients of all ages and language backgrounds. The study will not impact patient safety and complies with data governance regulations.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who are admitted to the cardiology admissions ward.
Not a fit: Patients who do not wish to participate will not benefit from this study as their data will be excluded.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to faster nurse response times, improving patient care and outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches using technology to enhance patient care have shown promise, this specific application of AI in nurse response times is relatively novel.
