What this trial studies

This observational study evaluates a computer-aided diagnosis system (CADx) designed to improve the early detection of gastric cancer. By comparing the detection rates of gastric neoplastic lesions identified by the CADx system against those identified by experienced endoscopists, the study aims to assess the effectiveness of this diagnostic tool. The focus is on patients undergoing gastroscopy for gastric lesion resection, with the goal of identifying lesions at an earlier stage to improve patient outcomes. The study is conducted in France, where gastric cancer remains a significant health concern.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients aged 18 and older who require diagnostic or therapeutic gastroscopy for gastric lesions and have French Health Insurance coverage.

Not a fit: Patients who have previously undergone lesion resection or do not have any gastric lesions will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to earlier detection of gastric cancer, significantly improving survival rates for patients.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using AI for cancer detection, suggesting that this approach could be beneficial, though this specific application is relatively novel.
