Using advanced MRI to predict treatment outcomes for esophageal cancer
DCE-MRI Based on 4D Free Breathing for Predicting Preoperative Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy for Esophageal Cancer

What this trial studies
This study aims to collect medical images and clinical data from patients with esophageal cancer using a novel 4D Free Breathing DCE-MRI technology. The focus is on evaluating the quality of these images in diagnosing esophageal cancer and predicting the effectiveness of preoperative neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy. By utilizing this advanced imaging technique, the study seeks to enhance the understanding of treatment responses in patients with specific stages of esophageal cancer.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with a first diagnosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma at specific clinical stages.
Not a fit: Patients with other primary tumors or those who have previously received chemoradiotherapy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to more accurate predictions of treatment efficacy, improving patient outcomes in esophageal cancer.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of advanced MRI techniques in cancer treatment is promising, this specific approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
