What this trial studies

This observational study aims to improve the diagnosis of Multinodular and Vacuolating Neuronal Tumors (MVNT) by utilizing advanced MRI techniques, including spectroscopy. The study focuses on differentiating MVNT from other similar benign neuronal diseases, such as dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumors and low-grade gliomas, to avoid unnecessary surgical interventions. Patients over 18 years old with suspected MVNT based on specific MRI criteria will be included in the study. The research will assess the effectiveness of these imaging techniques in confirming the benign nature of the lesions.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old with a suspicion of MVNT based on MRI findings.

Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, lactating, or have contraindications to MRI will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate diagnoses of benign neuronal tumors, reducing the need for invasive surgeries.

How similar studies have performed: While advanced MRI techniques have been used in other contexts, this specific application for MVNT diagnosis is novel and has not been extensively studied.
