What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) administered before bariatric surgery to enhance weight loss and improve patient satisfaction. A total of 500 patients will be randomly assigned to either the VLCD group or a standard care group prior to their surgery. The goal is to optimize both the preoperative and operative experiences for patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
