What this trial studies
This intervention aims to address dehydration among college students by utilizing a Smart Water Bottle that tracks fluid intake and provides reminders to encourage drinking. The study targets students who currently consume less than the recommended fluid intake levels. Participants will use the Smart Water Bottle and an associated app to monitor their hydration status and receive feedback based on their daily fluid consumption and urine color. The goal is to promote healthier hydration habits during a critical period of lifestyle development.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are college students who report drinking less than the recommended fluid intake levels.
Not a fit: Patients who are currently pregnant, taking diuretics, or consuming adequate fluid intake will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve hydration levels among college students, potentially reducing the risk of associated health issues.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies using Smart Water Bottles have shown promise in increasing fluid intake, but this specific application in college students is relatively novel.
