What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients with obliterative arterial disease of the lower limbs, a condition affecting millions worldwide. It aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a retrograde arterial puncture technique in managing symptomatic patients who require revascularization. The study will include patients aged 18 and older who are experiencing varying degrees of symptoms as classified by the Rutherford classification. The research will be conducted in French-speaking hospitals in Brest and Paris.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are French-speaking adults aged 18 and older with symptomatic obliterative arterial disease requiring revascularization.
Not a fit: Patients who are under guardianship, deprived of liberty, or under court protection will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could improve treatment outcomes and quality of life for patients suffering from lower limb arterial disease.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is gaining traction, the specific retrograde technique in ambulatory practice is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
