What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of a question-answer behavior guidance technique, implemented through a pediatric quiz game, to improve children's behavior during dental treatments. By engaging children in a fun and interactive way, the study aims to reduce anxiety and enhance communication between the child and dental staff. The intervention takes place in the waiting room, where children can express themselves freely, thereby fostering self-confidence and relaxation before their dental appointments. The study focuses on children aged 4-8 years who have no previous dental experience and no systemic or mental disorders.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 4-8 years with no prior dental experience.
Not a fit: Children who have had serious dental experiences requiring emergency treatment or those with systemic or mental disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce anxiety and improve the overall dental experience for children.
How similar studies have performed: While some behavior management techniques have been explored, this specific approach using a quiz game is novel and has not been widely tested.
