What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of a Nutridrink enriched with plant extracts high in polyphenols for oncology patients recovering from gastrointestinal tumor resections. The intervention aims to provide essential nutrients and bioactive compounds that may reduce inflammation, protect against oxidative damage, and enhance tissue healing. Participants will be monitored for changes in oxidative stress and inflammation markers, as well as their quality of life and overall well-being post-surgery. The study focuses on patients undergoing surgical resection of gastrointestinal tumors within a month of enrollment.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-80 diagnosed with resectable gastrointestinal tract cancer who are scheduled for surgery.
Not a fit: Patients with autoimmune diseases, severe liver dysfunction, or those currently taking supplements with similar ingredients may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could improve recovery outcomes and quality of life for oncology patients after surgery.
How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches have been explored, this specific combination of polyphenol-rich supplementation in post-surgical oncology patients is relatively novel.
