Using a new imaging probe to identify non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer
Trop2-targeting the Second Near-Infrared Fluorescence(NIR-II ) Molecular Probe for Guided Identification of Non-Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer
This study is testing a new imaging tool to see if it can help doctors better identify non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer during surgery.

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients with suspected non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) who are scheduled for surgical intervention. After surgery, excised tissues will be treated with a Trop2-targeting near-infrared (NIR-II) molecular probe to enhance visualization of cancerous tissues. The study aims to correlate the fluorescence imaging results with pathological diagnoses to improve detection and management of NMIBC. The methodology includes specific incubation procedures and advanced imaging techniques to capture detailed information about the tumors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-80 with suspected non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer who are good surgical candidates.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to participate in the consent process or have serious contraindications to surgery may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to more accurate identification of bladder cancer, potentially reducing recurrence rates and improving patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of NIR imaging in cancer detection is gaining interest, this specific approach targeting Trop2 in NMIBC is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
