What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a mobile game application and an educational booklet in improving disease knowledge, self-efficacy, symptom management, and quality of life in children aged 8-14 diagnosed with Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF). It employs a pretest-posttest control group design with randomized groups to compare outcomes between children educated through the mobile game and those using the booklet. The study seeks to demonstrate that interactive digital tools can enhance children's understanding and management of their chronic condition.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 8-14 who have been diagnosed with Familial Mediterranean Fever and are willing to participate.
Not a fit: Patients with identified mental disabilities or communication difficulties may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the quality of life and self-management skills of children with Familial Mediterranean Fever.
How similar studies have performed: While there is evidence of success in using video games for health education in other chronic conditions, this specific approach for Familial Mediterranean Fever is novel and untested.
