Using a mobile app with a glucose monitor to improve diabetes management
Pilot RCT Evaluating Clinical Outcomes of Using Undermyfork Mobile App With Dexcom G7 in a Real-World Community Ambulatory Health Setting
This study is testing if using a mobile app with a glucose monitor can help people with type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar better than just using the monitor alone.

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of combining a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) with the Undermyfork mobile application for individuals with type 2 diabetes. The intervention aims to provide real-time glucose monitoring alongside personalized dietary tracking to enhance glycemic control and diabetes self-management. Participants will be assessed for feasibility, acceptability, and clinical outcomes in a community health setting, comparing results from those using the app with those using the CGM alone. This innovative approach seeks to inform future diabetes care practices by integrating technology into routine management.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes who are on oral or injectable glucose-lowering medications, excluding bolus insulin.
Not a fit: Patients who are on bolus insulin or are pregnant may not receive benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to improved glycemic control and better overall management of type 2 diabetes for patients.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using mobile health applications alongside CGM technology, suggesting potential for success in this novel approach.
