What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an Arabic mobile application designed for multiple sclerosis patients in Egypt. The app focuses on enhancing self-care practices and improving quality of life by providing educational materials, symptom tracking, and medication adherence reminders. Participants will either use the app or receive usual care without it over a 12-week period, with follow-ups to assess the impact of the app on their health outcomes. The study seeks to determine if the app can significantly benefit patients compared to a control group.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 to 50 who have been clinically diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and own a smartphone.
Not a fit: Patients who are bedridden, in a wheelchair, or illiterate may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this app could significantly enhance the self-care practices and overall quality of life for multiple sclerosis patients.
How similar studies have performed: While mobile health interventions for chronic conditions have shown promise, this specific approach tailored for Arabic-speaking MS patients is relatively novel.
