What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to determine the effectiveness of the PortionSize Ed mobile app in enhancing healthy eating habits among early adolescents participating in the Hawai'i-Food and Lifeskills for Youth (HI-FLY) program. Over an 8-week period, participants will be randomly assigned to either receive the standard HI-FLY program or the HI-FLY program along with the PortionSize Ed app, which provides real-time feedback on dietary adherence. The app allows users to track their food intake by taking photos and receiving tailored dietary recommendations based on individual characteristics. This approach seeks to reduce recall bias and improve dietary choices through immediate feedback.
