What this trial studies
This study involves participants being randomized to either use a digital lifestyle tool for three years or to a control group without access to the tool. The aim is to evaluate the long-term efficacy of this web-based tool in promoting sustainable lifestyle changes that could prevent cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. The study will track the incidence and development of these conditions through clinical registries, providing insights into the effectiveness of continuous digital support compared to traditional methods. The research addresses the need for innovative and scalable lifestyle interventions in healthcare.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 35 and older who are at risk for cardiovascular diseases or type 2 diabetes.
Not a fit: Patients with type 1 diabetes, MODY, or secondary diabetes will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a scalable and cost-effective solution for preventing cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on long-term efficacy of digital lifestyle tools, previous studies have shown promise in smaller populations, making this approach both innovative and necessary.
