What this trial studies
This intervention focuses on reducing on-shift stress among healthcare workers by utilizing a Crisis Intervention Cart equipped with aromatherapy patches. The study will involve 100 nurses, patient care technicians, and unit secretaries across four Methodist Health System facilities. Participants will complete surveys after using the intervention to assess changes in their stress levels. Data collection will occur over two months, with participation dependent on staffing and criteria for deploying the intervention.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include full-time, part-time, or PRN employees who are nurses, patient care technicians, or unit secretaries within the Methodist Health System.
Not a fit: Healthcare workers at the Director-level or above, as well as those not employed by Methodist Health System, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly lower stress levels among healthcare workers, improving their well-being and job performance.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific use of a Crisis Intervention Cart is novel, similar interventions aimed at reducing stress in healthcare settings have shown promise in previous studies.
