Using 68Ga-FAPI PET-CT for diagnosing metastatic tumors and treating them with 177Lu-EB-FAPI

Diagnosis of Metastatic Tumors on 68Ga-FAPI PET-CT and Radioligand Therapy with 177Lu-EB-FAPI

Early Phase 1 Interventional Peking Union Medical College Hospital · NCT05400967

What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the safety and therapeutic response of a novel treatment, 177Lu-EB-FAPI, in patients with metastatic tumors. It utilizes 68Ga-FAPI PET-CT imaging to identify tumors that express fibroblast activation protein (FAP), which is overexpressed in many cancers. The treatment involves administering 177Lu-EB-FAPI, a modified therapeutic agent designed to enhance drug retention in tumor cells. The study will assess both the diagnostic capabilities of the imaging technique and the effectiveness of the new therapy in targeting metastatic tumors.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with confirmed treated or untreated metastatic tumors who have undergone recent PET/CT scans.

Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have medical conditions that may interfere with study compliance will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a more effective treatment option for patients with metastatic tumors.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of FAPI in imaging has been successful in various cancers, the specific combination of 177Lu-EB-FAPI for therapy is a novel approach that has not been extensively tested.
