What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the reasons behind vaccination hesitancy, delay, or avoidance among children with chronic diseases, congenital anomalies, or disabilities. Caregivers will complete questionnaires and participate in focus groups to provide qualitative insights into their attitudes towards vaccinations. The study will compare the vaccination status of these children with that of their siblings and national vaccination compliance records to identify patterns and obstacles. The goal is to better understand the unique challenges faced by this marginalized population regarding vaccination.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children diagnosed with disabilities, chronic diseases, or congenital anomalies.

Not a fit: Patients who are undiagnosed or whose caregivers do not adequately fill out the questionnaires may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved vaccination rates and health outcomes for children with disabilities and chronic conditions.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on vaccination hesitancy in general populations, this specific focus on children with disabilities is relatively novel and underexplored.
