What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore how various contextual, individual, and cultural factors affect the well-being of Hispanic and Latino caregivers who care for relatives with memory issues or dementia. Participants will complete an initial online survey to assess their caregiving situation, followed by daily surveys for three weeks to capture their experiences and mental health. Additionally, follow-up surveys will be conducted at six and twelve months to track changes in their mental health over time. The study seeks to identify risk and protective factors influencing depression and anxiety symptoms among these caregivers.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are Hispanic or Latino/a/x/e individuals aged 18 or older who provide informal care for at least four hours a day to a relative with memory problems or dementia.

Not a fit: Patients who are terminally ill or those who do not have reliable internet access may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved mental health support and resources for Hispanic caregivers, enhancing their overall well-being.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies focusing on caregiver mental health, this specific approach targeting Hispanic caregivers is relatively novel and may provide unique insights.
