What this trial studies
This study aims to explore the psychological characteristics of patients suffering from severe asthma, focusing on how personality traits, attachment styles, and psychological disorders affect their coping strategies and overall quality of life. By utilizing questionnaires, the research will gather data from patients who have been diagnosed with asthma for over a year and are experiencing uncontrolled symptoms despite high levels of treatment. The findings could provide insights into the psychological profiles of these patients, which may help tailor more effective management strategies for severe asthma.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older with severe asthma that remains uncontrolled despite high therapeutic pressure.
Not a fit: Patients with reading or comprehension difficulties that prevent them from completing the questionnaires will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for patients with severe asthma by addressing their psychological needs.
How similar studies have performed: While some data exists regarding psychological factors in asthma, this study is novel as it specifically focuses on the psychological profiles of severe asthmatics.
