Understanding the biology and prognosis of cerebral arteriovenous malformations
Biology of Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformations : Study of the Link Between Blood Biomarkers and the Haemorrhagic Prognosis of Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformations
This study is trying to learn more about cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and how they can cause strokes, focusing on how certain blood vessels and immune cells work, to help improve care for adults with AVMs.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate the biology of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and their associated prognosis. It focuses on understanding the mechanisms behind hemorrhagic strokes caused by AVMs, particularly the role of peri-nidal micro-vessels and the involvement of immune cells and platelets in maintaining microvascular integrity. Patients over 18 years old with cerebral AVMs will be monitored, and their consent will be obtained for participation. The study seeks to gather data that could enhance the understanding of AVMs and improve patient outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old diagnosed with a cerebral AVM requiring intervention or clinical monitoring.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under legal protection measures may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to better management and treatment strategies for patients with cerebral arteriovenous malformations.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on cerebral AVMs, this specific observational approach focusing on the biology and prognosis is relatively novel.
