What this trial studies
This observational study aims to analyze the epidemiology of road traffic accidents (RTAs) in the Riyadh region over the past five years. It will identify demographic characteristics of victims and estimate trends and seasonal variations in RTAs. By collecting data from emergency room visits and hospital admissions, the study seeks to provide insights that can inform prevention and control strategies for stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to reduce the burden of RTAs on public health in the region.

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals who have been victims of road traffic accidents and received treatment in emergency rooms or hospitals during the study period.
Not a fit: Patients who sustained injuries without vehicle involvement or from stationary vehicles will not benefit from this study.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion Criteria: -All the Road Traffic Accidents victims; who attended the emergency room or admitted to the hospital during the study period. Exclusion Criteria: -Any injury on the road without involvement of a vehicle (e.g. a person slipping and falling on the road and sustaining injury) or injury involving a stationary vehicle (e.g. persons being injured while washing or loading a vehicle).
