What this trial studies
This study aims to explore the public's beliefs and emotions regarding SARS-CoV-2 whole genome sequencing and other genomic sequencing methods. It seeks to identify misconceptions and limiting beliefs that hinder support for genomic sequencing as a routine part of pandemic response, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. By engaging various stakeholders, including non-professionals, the study will develop targeted educational materials and social media campaigns to address these misconceptions. The ultimate goal is to enhance public understanding and acceptance of genomic sequencing in health policy.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include young adults, adults, and health workers living or working in Jakarta.
Not a fit: Patients living or working outside Jakarta may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve public support for genomic sequencing, leading to better health outcomes during pandemics.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown that targeted educational interventions can effectively change public perceptions and increase support for health initiatives.
