Understanding pelvic and spinal positioning in sitting children with cerebral palsy
Study of Sagittal Pelvic Statics in the Sitting Position in Children With Cerebral Palsy

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on children with cerebral palsy who have limited mobility, specifically those classified as GMFCS III, IV, and V. It aims to investigate the sagittal pelvic statics in the sitting position, which has been underexplored despite its importance for these children. By standardizing the method for performing pelvic-spinal radiographs in this position, the study seeks to enhance the reliability of monitoring spinal statics and prevent deformities. The findings could lead to improved follow-up care and management strategies for affected children.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are children and adolescents aged 4 to 17 years with cerebral palsy classified as GMFCS III, IV, or V.
Not a fit: Patients who have undergone spinal surgery or are participating in other therapeutic research studies may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to better monitoring and prevention of spinal deformities in children with cerebral palsy.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on sagittal pelvic statics in sitting children with cerebral palsy, similar studies on spinal deformities in this population have shown promising results.
