What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the motivations and psychological factors influencing new male and female candidates for gamete donation in France. It will compare the characteristics of these new donors, who are subject to a recent change in anonymity laws, with those from a previous study conducted between 2016 and 2018. Participants will complete questionnaires designed to assess their motivations, perceptions of donation, and views on infertility. The study seeks to provide insights into how changes in legislation may affect donor demographics and motivations.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals considering gamete donation at CECOS centers in France.
Not a fit: Patients who do not understand French or cannot complete the questionnaires will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of donor motivations and improve recruitment strategies for gamete donation.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies on gamete donation motivations have shown success, but this study addresses a novel context due to recent changes in anonymity laws.
