Understanding motion and balance issues in children with cerebral palsy
Predictors of Range of Motion and Balance Abnormalities in Children Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy
This study looks at how motion and balance problems in children with cerebral palsy are related to their muscle strength and movement abilities to better understand their overall function.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to identify factors contributing to range of motion (ROM) abnormalities and balance issues in children diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP). It will assess the distribution of primary impairments, such as muscle tone and postural stability, and secondary impairments, including ROM and functional muscle strength, across different levels of gross motor function. The study will also evaluate how these impairments affect overall functional outcomes in children with spastic CP and explore potential correlations between various clinical variables.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children diagnosed with cerebral palsy who have been receiving regular physiotherapy services for at least six months.
Not a fit: Patients with behavioral issues, significant visual or auditory impairments, or those who have received botulinum toxin injections in the last six months may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and management of motion and balance issues in children with cerebral palsy.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies focusing on various aspects of cerebral palsy, this specific observational approach to understanding ROM and balance abnormalities is relatively novel.
