What this trial studies

This project investigates psychiatric establishments that utilize reduced coercion in their practices. It aims to identify the organizational structures and cooperative methods that contribute to a more respectful approach to individual liberties in psychiatry. The study will involve an inventory of these establishments and an in-depth analysis of seven selected institutions through interviews with professionals and ex-patients, as well as observational methods. The research combines nursing and sociological perspectives to gather comprehensive insights into these less coercive environments.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study include professionals working in the identified psychiatric establishments and ex-patients who have been stabilized after hospitalization in these facilities within the last two years.

Not a fit: Patients who refuse to participate in the study will not benefit from its findings.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved psychiatric practices that prioritize patient autonomy and reduce the use of coercive measures.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on less coercive psychiatric practices, similar studies have shown promising results in improving patient outcomes through reduced coercion.
