Understanding inflammatory genes in psoriasis
Regulation of Inflammatory Genes in Psoriasis
University of Alabama at Birmingham · NCT03125655

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on psoriasis, a chronic skin condition characterized by inflammation. It aims to investigate the role of cytokines produced by activated immune cells in the development of psoriatic lesions. By analyzing these inflammatory markers, the study seeks to establish their potential as indicators for disease severity and management. Participants will be monitored to gather data on their inflammatory responses related to psoriasis.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 19 and older with a clinical diagnosis of psoriasis.
Not a fit: Patients with photosensitive diseases, a history of keloids, allergies to local anesthetics, or who are pregnant may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for psoriasis by identifying key inflammatory markers.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have explored inflammatory markers in psoriasis, indicating a growing interest in this area, but the specific approach of this study may offer novel insights.
