What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) among surgical patients. It focuses on understanding how these patients engage with new technologies, their ability to utilize them, and the differences in usage based on factors such as gender, age, and social background. By collecting data through surveys, the study seeks to provide insights into the real-world application of ICT in surgical care.

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients over 18 years old who are scheduled for surgery.

Not a fit: Patients who are unable to read or understand messages, as well as those undergoing emergency surgery, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance patient engagement and improve communication between surgical teams and patients.
