What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess the impact of sociocognitive and interpersonal factors on the therapeutic adherence of patients with multiple sclerosis. By utilizing the Theory of Planned Behaviour, the study will explore how personal attitudes, social expectations, and perceived control influence patients' adherence to their treatment regimens. The research will focus on identifying the risk factors and vulnerabilities associated with non-adherence, which is a significant issue affecting the long-term health outcomes of these patients. The findings could lead to improved strategies for enhancing adherence and overall patient care.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with multiple sclerosis who are beginning or have undergone substantive treatment.
Not a fit: Patients with severe cognitive impairment or other serious neurological or chronic diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to better adherence strategies for multiple sclerosis patients, improving their quality of life and clinical outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown varying degrees of success in understanding treatment adherence through sociocognitive models, making this approach both relevant and potentially impactful.
